im still a youngster but i find that riding my bike around 800/930 at night for a minimium of 20 minutes really helps

One thing I’ve found works is to read something I’ve read before. I noticed my kids never tired of hearing the same stories at bedtime. And reading a novel I’ve already read, and really liked, means there are no huge surprises that have me turning pages in anticipation and waking me up.

I used to read when I went to bed until I fell asleep. I got it in my head that the practice made me yawn and tired when I tried to read homework or other materials I wanted to finish. I stopped reading in bed and only used my sleep time for sleeping. I found I had more stamina when reading during the day and fell asleep faster at bed time after I discontinued the reading in bed practice. Am I mistaken?

It’s funny but rituals do works,
I used to listen to a special CD before bed time and after a few weeks of this, I thinks my brain associated that music to sleep and would fall asleep before the CD was over it’s cheap and effective.

I can’t beleive no one has commented on what was said about things with batteries not being in the bedroom LOL!

On a serious note though here it is just past midnight and I’m still up. I have such a hard time giving in. It feels like I have more to do and I almost feel anxious if i waste that time sleeping.

    Professor J.
What is your advice to university students who have ADD and dyslexia and are spending long often late hours trying to get their assigned reading done? As a student with dyslexia all those readings made for many a late night. Being young back then and surrounded by young people, I also wanted a social life. So what is more important gettig your assigned reading done or getting enough sleep? What would your co-working professors think of this question or would they even think about it?
    All students are our future.

No, it’s not what you’re thinking.  But it’s still interesting and worthwhile.
