“I would like to thank the Academy…”

September 6, 2010

We have been nominated for a Gemini Award!
By we, I mean us. You and us. For this website. For TotallyADD.com
How cool is this?
The Gemini Awards honour the best in Canadian Television. (Even I have won one! And I’ve been nominated for almost 20. More on that terrible injustice another time.)
The Geminis are handed out by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television.
And because this whole massive shebang came out of our documentary, “ADD & LOVING IT?!”, we are nominated in the category of…
BEST CROSS PLATFORM
If you think I’m lying, and I wouldn’t put it past me, click here to see the page on their website.  See!  It’s true!
James Milward, whose company Secret Location did the programming of the site, is nominated along with Ava and I. Woo hooo! Alas, Dr. J’s name isn’t on the nomination, but I’m betting he’ll be there. After all, who wouldn’t want to pay 200 bucks for a nice dinner and the pain of losing in front of hundreds of your peers?
Anyway, congrats to James and his crew. And us. And you.
If you happen to be a member of the Academy… and based on my experience half the people working in TV had ADHD, then vote for us! Or at least come over after we lose and say, “Geez, I voted for you. You were robbed. What a shame.  You should complain.”
Hey, I work in Canadian television.  If I start complaining, I’ll never stop.
Oh, and my friend Duncan and I are also nominated for a History Television special we did last year, “History Bites The Filthy Stinking Rich.” I think the title captures the warm tone of the show. Yay Duncan!
More later.

(Also is it “… whose company did the … ”  Or  ”…who’s company did the…”
